A group of swimmers travelled to Sunderland on the 17^th and 18^th of July 2010 for the final competition of the 2009/2010 season. The Competition was held at Sunderland Aquatics centre in a 50 metre pool. For many of the swimmers this was the first time they had competed in a long course pool and the coaches were impressed with how they handled the novel environment. Casey Robinson and Daniel Murray swam two of the hardest events on the program the 400 freestyle and 200 butterfly respectively. Both swam P.B’s and their determination to swim such events at their first long course competition says a great deal about their character. Both went on to swim numerous other events throughout the weekend gaining valuable experience of competing in a long course pool.Lauren Carroll had some strong swims and P.B’s in the 100metre events while younger sister Rachel swam well all weekend beating her short course P.B times in both the 50 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke. Laura Ellis swam solidly in her 3 races and was rewarded for her efforts with a bronze medal in the 400 Freestyle.  Natalie Dixon also swam in 3 races gaining P.B’s in her 50 Breaststroke and 100 Freestyle (beating her short course time!) but was unlucky to be disqualifies for what was an impressive 200 breaststroke time. Holly Mitchell swam solidly finishing with a good strong 200IM time.Daniel Milne swam solidly with a P.B in the Freestyle gaining additional experience in a long course pool. Andrew Riley and Daniel Weightman both swam very strong 200 Backstrokes’ both beating their short course times. Andrew also gained two silver medals in the 50 and 200 Breaststroke both in P.B’s.Bethany Milne only had 3 races but made the most of them gaining P.B’s in all of them beating her short course P.B’s in each one to. A good reward for her hard work in training. Emily Price also beat her short course P.B’s in 4 out of her 5 swims. Her most impressive swim being her 100 Butterfly knocking some 14 seconds off. Finally James Purvis swam well all weekend gaining two gold medals in the 50 Butterfly and the 50 Freestyle in a very impressive time of 26.61 gaining him an additional short course NER time. James also swam a P.B in the 100 Freestyle just missing dipping under the minute barrier.The competition was a great way to end the 2009/2010 season, enjoy your break we look forward to seeing everyone when we resume training on the 24^th August.For full results visit this linkhttp://www.cityofsunderlandasc.co.uk/

Anyone who does host will take priority when we travel to visiy them in 2013.

Anyone who has been on one of these exchange visits will tell you that they are absolutely fabulous and many lifelong friends have been made through the visits.

Please read the attached letter and let us know if you are interested. Although the letter says that we need to know by 31st July 2010 as long as you let us know by 5th September 2010 that will be fine.

Remember this is just an expression of interest at this stage and we will be holding meetings to explain exactly what the visit entails and answer any questions that you have.
